Meet the Presenter and Program Founder:
Aspen Black
Nationally-touring speaker & cultural presenter
Aspen Black is a touring songwriter, speaker, and storyteller who helps audiences rediscover the memories, values, and connections that shape their lives. Her programs blend original music with engaging stories and guided conversation, creating experiences that continue long after the event ends.
With over 30 years experience performing and presenting to audiences from 2 - nearly 10,000, and multiple awards for her original songs and poems, Aspen is passionate about ordinary people's experiences, community changes, old buildings, stewardship, and the choices, values, and property we pass on to future generations. Aspen grew up listening to her father's stories of being an unwanted "extra mouth to feed" after his mother died at age 4, to serving in the US Marine Corps in WWII, to building "Brownkirk", his rural farmette dream home, then "Buksbari Ranch", Aspen's legacy farm. He died while Aspen was still in her 30's but his legacy of storytelling, and her mother's legacy of music, continue in Aspen, as she uses both as tools to help people feel seen, heard, important, and more deeply connected to one another.
